- This rule is very similar to the 4081 series of rules with the omission of the K scale and the addition of three
vector scales, Th, Sh1 and Sh2 which were used extensively in the electronics and power industry.
- I believe that this rule probably dates from roughly 1949, the serial number is about right for that date and
this model first appears in the K&E 1949 catalogue. This model was listed in the 1954 catalog as the 4083-3 without
the N prefix.
