Overview
|
|
|
There are a number of books about slide rules, some are lists of various manufacturers, others are instructional and
yet others are historical giving details of the development of the slide rule. There are also a number of books
which are a mixture of all three of these categories.

The Slide Rule
Fairly basic text based around coursework for the International Correspondence Schools of Scranton, Pennsylvania.
I know of three versions of this book which were published, two in hard back and one in paper back. This example
is the later paperback version and was formerly attributed to Rufus T Strohm (see above listing). This later version
no longer bears Strohm's name and has an additional section for Circular slide rules.
- Author: ICS Staff
- Publisher: International Textbook Company
- Copyright Date: 1939, 1948
- Pages: 94
- Condition: Good

A Basic Slide Rule Manual
This book is a shorter version of another manual written by the author which is titled, "A Complete Slide Rule Manual", and
which seems to have been used as a text in some advanced tertiary courses in Australia in the early 1970's. This basic
version is a more introductory document but it still covers a good range of operations for Log and Trig.
- Author: Neville W Young
- Publisher: West Publishing Corporation
- Copyright Date: 1973
- Pages: 86
- Condition: Good, scuff marks on cover
