- I believe that this rule probably dates from roughly 1963, this is based on the serial number. For K&E serial number
dating use the link here to
Ed Chamberlain's reference set of dating curves.
- This is the progression from the 4080 series of rules using K&E's new numbering system. Refer to examples
1, 2 and
3 for other examples of this model.
- This rules differ only slightly from the 4081 series in that these rules have the trigonometrical scales divided in
degrees and minutes, whereas the 4081 series has these scales divided to represent decimals of a degree.
